The last years abc exhibition had been presented the works by 130 artists from 111 galleries from all over the world. Berlin that in the recent years has become a renowned arts capital that wants to position itself as a well established art market and attract the art collectors. Therefore ABC plays a role as the art fair as well as a regular exhibition.
The organisation of the space offered clear and open structure, which was particularly well suited for installation, sound and video productions.
For me the motif of the exhibition could be found in acclamation “Anche io sono pittore” a quote that has been attributed to Corregio. This claim put us a question what is arts, how we define modern arts nowadays. The painting proudly claims to be also a piece of art, to belong to the world of arts. This statement puts a bridge between tradition and the modern world.
We can see the same statement put in different art works. The uncommon combination between the screen and the sculpture. The spatial organisation of this instalation makes this piece so credible to the viewer.
