Berliner Dome (Berlin Cathedral) is palaced on Museum Island in the district Mitte. It is a Evengelical Parish and Collegiate Church. It is present building was completed in 1905 and it is an example of Historicist architechture of “Kaiserzeit”.

The Berlin Cathedral had never been a cathedral in the strick meaning as it had never been the seat of the bishop. In 1451 Prince-Elector Frederick II Irontooth of Brandenburg moved his residence from Brandburg to the into the newly erected City Palace, which also housed a Catholic chapel. Later, the chapell had been elevated to become a parish church.
