The department store Jandorf was opened in 1904 by Adolf Jandorf in Berlin-Mitte. The department store was in operation until 1945, after which it was used in the GDR as an institute of fashion design.

This fine example of Art Nouveau had been designed by the architect company Lachmann and constructed from 1903 to 1904. The construcion had been in steel frame. The ground floor was made by limestone.  On the facade with large windows and tracery had been preserved cartridges with bees, which can be interpreted as symbol of dilligence.

The building has five floors and had a sales area of approximately 10,000 square meters.
